Introduction to Borderlands

Gearbox Software made Borderlands with 2K Games publishing it in 2009. Players step onto Pandora, a world with dangerous beasts and roaming bandits. Bright cel-shaded art pops on screen and a dark sense of humor runs through each moment. Gamers choose one of four heroes, each with a unique skill tree. They set off to find a hidden Vault full of alien technology.

Gunplay feels fast with crisp shooting. Leveling shapes each hero. Players earn experience by beating missions. They find cash from each victory. Loot arrives after each battle. A procedural system builds random guns. It yields millions of unique designs. Enemies vary, so each fight stays fresh. You can team up with three friends online or in split screen for more chaos.

Vault hunters Lilith, Mordecai, Roland, and Brick race across Pandora in search of hidden treasure. A voice called the Guardian Angel guides them past bandit camps and ancient ruins. They gather Vault key fragments and learn more secrets of the wasteland. Sequels and spin-offs expand this universe. New entries refine the tools and thrills. These elements made the first adventure stand out.
