Use Magnetism to Find the Exit

Magneboy is a puzzle game about an orange robot with magnetic powers. Each level places the little robot on floating platforms surrounded by a dark technological void.

Your task is to reach the checkered finish tile.

Walking alone will not get you through most stages. Magneboy needs his magnetic ability to move across gaps, pull platforms into position, and solve the layout of each puzzle.

The game contains 50 levels, so new ideas continue appearing long after the basic controls become familiar.

Blue and Purple Blocks Work Differently

The arrow keys move Magneboy.

Pressing the Space bar activates his magnetic power in the direction he faces.

Blue magnetic tiles pull Magneboy toward them. This lets him cross empty spaces that he could never walk across.

Purple tiles behave in the opposite way. Magneboy pulls them toward himself.

That difference creates many of the puzzles. You may need to move a purple platform into a gap before using a blue block to reach another section.

Using the magnetic pieces in the wrong order can leave you trapped.

Meet New Puzzle Objects

Later stages introduce more than the basic colored platforms.

Bridge pieces can create a path when you line them up properly. Key tiles need to reach the correct place before some levels can finish.

Oil tiles make Magneboy keep sliding in the same direction. Teleporters can carry magnetic effects between different locations. Arrow objects change the direction of magnetic power.

Obstacles can block both movement and magnetism.

The game also introduces creatures. Some stay in one place, while others patrol areas or chase Magneboy when he gets too close.

Finish in Fewer Moves

Every step matters because Magneboy tracks how many moves you use.

Walking from tile to tile adds to the total. Activating magnetic power also counts.

Finishing with fewer moves gives a better result, so solving a level is only one goal. You can replay it and search for a shorter solution.

Magneboy starts with an easy magnetic idea and slowly adds more pieces around it. The challenge comes from looking at the whole puzzle before moving anything important.

Face the right direction, decide whether Magneboy or the platform should move, and build a safe route toward the finish.
