Doooors
Reach the Blue Crystal
Doooors is a puzzle platform game where you guide a small character through a set of unusual stages. Each level contains a glowing blue crystal. Reaching that crystal completes the stage, but the path often requires more than simply running and jumping.
The levels contain doors, switches, balls, springboards, platforms, and other objects. Doooors asks you to use these items in ways that may not seem obvious at first. The game includes 18 levels, and the puzzles become much harder after the early stages introduce the basic ideas.
Doors Work Like Tools
The doors give Doooors its main puzzle idea. A door does not always stay fixed in one place. You can pick one up, carry it, move it somewhere useful, and even throw it. You can also travel through doors to reach other parts of a stage.
Sometimes a door helps you reach a platform. In another situation, its weight may help hold down a switch. The game also includes balls that can press switches for you.
This means the objects around you are part of the solution. Looking at the whole stage before moving everything can save a lot of trouble.
Learn How Each Level Works
The arrow keys move your character. The S key lets you jump, while the D key lets you pick up doors.
There are no enemies chasing you through the stages. The main obstacle is the puzzle itself. You may see the crystal right away and still have no clear path to reach it.
Buttons can open routes. Objects can hold switches. Doors can become movable tools instead of simple entrances. Springboards can help you reach higher areas. Each stage asks you to understand how these pieces work together.
Experiment When a Solution Is Not Clear
Doooors encourages trial and error. A solution may require placing an object in a strange position or using a familiar item for a completely different purpose.
The game keeps the goal easy to understand. Find a way to touch the glowing blue crystal. The challenge comes from working out the steps needed to get there.
Doooors combines jumping with logic puzzles without filling the screen with complicated controls. Its unusual use of movable doors gives each stage its own small problem to solve.
