Learn About the Game BattleField 2

Battlefield 2 landed in 2005 as a first person shooter from Digital Illusions CE and Electronic Arts. It moved the series into a modern fight between China and the Middle East Coalition. Matches let 64 players join the same battle. You dodge enemy fire at long range with rifles and rocket launchers. You test armored vehicles and sit behind helicopter rotors before taking aim in a fighter jet.

Conquest mode sends two sides scrambling for capture points to bleed away the other team’s tickets. Every flag shift and every fallen soldier cuts into their reserve numbers. Cooperative mode lets you team up with game controlled allies against waves of computer foes. Commander mode gives one person per side a view over the field. They send artillery strikes and resupply drops to shape the fight.

Squads of up to six soldiers form under a squad leader on each team. The leader picks targets and keeps the unit focused on objectives. Voice chat lives inside the game. Your squad uses it instead of extra software. Every battle brings experience that moves your rank forward. New weapons and gear open up after you earn ribbons and medals for your performance.
