Ironhide Game Studio released Kingdom Rush in 2011. The game takes place in a medieval realm under siege by an orc horde led by dark wizards. You build towers along fixed roads to attack each wave. Enemy formations get tougher, prompting you to upgrade towers and use hero powers to hold your ground.
The artwork mixes playful visuals and fine details that grab your focus. Each tower type delivers a distinct attack and follows its own upgrade path. You pick enhancements that smash quick units or take down armored brutes. A variety of enemy abilities keeps every skirmish from feeling the same.
Kingdom Rush grew beyond its original release to spawn a range of follow-ups. One sequel showcased new heroes and maps while another brought entirely new story arcs. Developers tweaked core mechanics by introducing extra hero skills and branching upgrades. Players switch between handheld and desktop play and keep their progress intact.
